Blazing State Policy Pathways
Identify pathways to mobilize community partners who are well-positioned to accelerate a health-policy agenda for Black gay men based on the National HIV/AIDS Strategy: Updated to 2020.
The most recent National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS 2020) calls for states to implement policies necessary to achieve fewer HIV diagnoses and AIDS deaths, and higher rates of viral suppression among vulnerable populations in the United States. During this webinar, panelists discuss a proposed policy agenda that prioritizes and protects the health needs of Black gay men; share strategies to galvanize advocacy efforts within key states; and identify pathways to mobilize community partners to accelerate the process of reaching the NHAS 2020 goals in their states. Attendees will also explore best practices for tackling social determinants of health and stigma by educating state legislators and advocating for people living with, or at risk for, HIV.
